Casual 2048 - Zen Merge
_Last updated: October 19, 2026_
These terms govern your use of Casual 2048 - Zen Merge ("the App"), a
casual tile-merging puzzle game for Android published by Studios Octave.
By installing or using the App you accept these terms.
1. Who we are
Studios Octave — Clément Darme, L'Abergement-Clémenciat, France.
Contact: caesarencodingfactor@gmail.com
2. Licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence
to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for private,
non-commercial entertainment.
You may not:
- copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App beyond what your
local law permits and this licence allows;
- redistribute, rent, lease or sell the App;
- reverse-engineer or decompile it except where such restriction is
prohibited by applicable law;
- use it to infringe anyone else's rights, or to attempt to interfere
with any ad or analytics service it includes.
3. Age and accounts
The App has no login nor account. It is intended for a general audience;
if a minor in your household uses it, they do so under your supervision
and responsibility (particularly regarding in-app advertising — see §6).
You must comply with your local Android platform age rules when
installing.
4. Playing rules and in-app economy
- The game's rules (tile merging, spawning, win condition) are implemented
in the App and applied identically to everyone.
- Extra in-game resources (extra undos, "keep the biggest tile" after a
defeat) may be earned by watching rewarded ads at your choice.
- These resources have no monetary value, cannot be sold or
transferred, and may be adjusted if we rebalance gameplay.
- We may change the game, its features, its difficulty, its board sizes,
or these terms at any time. Removing a feature you used is not a breach
of these terms.
5. Accepted use
You agree not to:
- exploit bugs to gain an unfair advantage or to obtain rewards without
watching the corresponding rewarded ad;
- use automated tools, macros or modified versions of the App;
- interfere with the App's or its ad SDK's normal operation;
- use the App in any jurisdiction where doing so is unlawful.
6. Advertising
The App is supported by advertising (currently Google AdMob; a future
version may use another network, and these terms will be updated
accordingly). By using the App you acknowledge that:
- ads are a required part of the App's business model; they may be shown
between game rounds and before replays;
- rewarded ads are optional: you watch them at your choice, and missing
one simply means the reward is not granted;
- ad content is served by the network, not by us: **we do not control and
cannot guarantee any third-party ad's content**. Any offer, purchase or
interaction you make from an ad is solely between you and that
advertiser, and we are not liable for it.
See the Privacy Policy for the data side of ads.
7. Ownership
The App, its code, art and name remain the property of Studios Octave.
Elements derived from Gabriele Cirulli's open-source 2048 game and the
original Androbaby 2048 Android port remain subject to their own upstream
licences. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google
LLC.
8. Warranty disclaimer
The App is provided "AS IS" and without warranty of any kind. We do not
promise the App is error-free, that it will work on every device, or that
a specific feature will remain available. To the fullest extent permitted
by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a
particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Studios Octave's total liability for any
claim arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the greater of
(i) the amount you paid for the App — typically nothing, since it is free
— or (ii) the minimum amount your local law requires. We are not liable
for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages
(including lost data on your device — though the App's design means your
game data never leaves it).
Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any
other liability that cannot be excluded by law (including EU consumers'
statutory rights).
10. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete it at any time. We may withdraw the
App from distribution, or block copy-protected features you have abused,
at any time. Sections 7–9 survive termination.
11. Changes to the App or these terms
We may update the App (features, ads, gameplay, platforms) and these
terms. We will post the updated terms here and change the "last updated"
date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to mandatory
consumer-protection rules of the country where you live — EU consumers
keep the right to bring proceedings in their country of residence.
